Intersections is the speaker series of the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto.

This year’s Intersections programming is organized by five research clusters in our department: Critical Planning, Labour and Economic Geography, Physical Geography, Political Spaces, and Transportation. Each cluster proposed a set of activities such as lectures, workshops and reading groups. This website will keep you informed about the various events that have been planned for 2018-2019, which will typically take place on Fridays, 3-5pm.

The 2018-2019 schedule for Intersections is available here (google calendar). As our calendar will be updated as and when new events are confirmed, you may want to check our website from time to time. We will also announce all events by email and through our Facebook page.

This year’s Intersections is administered by Professor Kanishka Goonewardena and Urban Planning master’s student Darian Razdar. The Intersections team can be contacted by email at intersectionstoronto@gmail.com if you have questions or feedback.

Toronto is in the ‘Dish With One Spoon Territory’. The Dish With One Spoon is a treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee that bound them to share the territory and protect the land. Subsequent Indigenous Nations and peoples, Europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect.
